Trisha Yearwood and Don Henley Reunite for 'Walkaway Joe' Performance: 'I Appreciate You'

Trisha Yearwood’s induction into theAustin City LimitsHall of Fame included a sweet reunion with an old friend.

The country music star performed “Walkaway Joe” with Eagles co-founderDon Henleyduring the all-star Austin City Limits 9th Annual Hall of Fame Honors Trisha Yearwood specialset to air on PBS Saturday.

As the rocker joined her on stage to perform the hit 1992 track, Yearwood praised him for being a good friend.

“I try to not ask you to do to many things because you always say yes and I appreciate you very much,” said Yearwood, causing Henley to break into a big smile.

The rocker was on hand to induct Yearwood into the hall of fame thatincludes fellow musicianslikeSheryl Crow,B. B. KingandLoretta Lynn. Other musicians present at the event wereBrothers Osborne,Brandy Clark,Ronnie DunnandJo Dee Messina.

After the special was filmed in October 2023, Yearwoodshared on Instagramthat “to say I had the time of my life in Austin is an understatement.”

“I feel humbled to be honored on such a sacred stage. Live music can change people’s lives and what Austin City Limits has been doing for live music for the last 50 years is truly life changing, not only for the artists and the players, but most importantly for everyone watching and listening,” her caption read.

Yearwood included a sweet message to Henley that read, “Don Henley, this honor will forever mean that much more because you welcomed me into the@acltvHall of Fame. Appreciate you, my friend!”

“Walkaway Joe” featured a young Matthew McConaughey in its music video when it was initially released as a single in 1992.
