Tyler Baltierra Marvels at Daughters Novalee and Vaeda Growing Up amid Major Milestones: 'This Dad Is Not Okay'

Catelynn Lowell BaltierraandTyler Baltierra’s girls are growing up fast.

TheTeen Momstars, both 31, each shared news that their daughterNovalee, 9, got her first pair of glasses. Catelynn posted about the milestone on Instagram first, writing, “Novalee got glasses 👓 today 😫❤️ she’s getting so big and mature it’s wild!!!”

Later, Tyler shared a photo of Novalee posing with younger sisterVaeda, who celebrates her fifth birthday tomorrow. The big moment for each of the sisters made the girl dad — who also shares daughterRya, 2½, with his wife — emotional about how quickly they’re growing up.

“They just keep growing up on me & as beautiful as it is to witness…it’s also heartbreaking at the same time. I love my girls more than anything & thank the universe every day for allowing me to be their father!#NovaleeReign#VaedaLuma#GirlDad#BlessedByDaughters.”

Tyler shared another sweet moment with Novalee in November, when he talked about doing his daughter’s hair for school after she asked him to curl it.

“But why does she have to keep growing up though!? 😭 It’s such a bittersweet feeling when you witness your little girl growing up so beautifully, because you’re so happy & proud of who she’s becoming…but at the same time you’re sad, because you know that witnessing such beauty, inevitably comes with the cost of her leaving one day & I just don’t want to pay that price yet!” he wrote.

“I’m just so grateful that I even get to have these experiences with my babies & that I get to even be a dad in the first place. It’s like a slow beautiful heartbreak…but I wouldn’t trade it for the world! 🥺😢#NovaleeReign#GirlDad#BlessedByDaughters.”

The Baltierrasmet in high school and began a relationship in 2005, ultimately getting married 10 years later. In addition to their three kids, they also have a relationship with their biological daughterCarly, whom they placed for adoption in 2009 during their time on theTeen Momorigin series16 & Pregnant.

Speaking with PEOPLEin August, the couple talked about embracing raising girls who are tough and in touch with their feelings.

“For me, being a dad of girls, I think my biggest joy is watching them really become confident with themselves,” Tyler said. “I tell my girls a lot about getting to know what it’s like to be powerful as a woman and what a great opportunity that is.”

“And you’re going to have unique challenges that come with that, but there’s also that other side where you get to be this amazing, powerful person,” he continued. “I hope all the girls grow up to be like that. I love to watch them become confident with themselves and navigate life with tenacity.”
