After the performances, all three contestants stood center stage for commentary from the coaches.
“Austyns, you were spirit-filled. Somebody upstairs you were missing?” McEntire, 69, asks the contestant
“My father. I lost him and I’m so happy to be here and sing this song in front of you guys,” he responds.
“It’s so amazing how healing music is. Your dad’s not with us, my dad’s not with us. So this is a song that goes to the heart. Very powerful,” McEntire says with tears in her eyes.
Meanwhile, Stefani, 55, couldn’t help but rave about Eagle’s performance: “Security may have to come get me because I’m like a super fan of Christina. That was a crazy performance and to be able to have that kind of personality and charisma onstage. I can’t believe you’re not signed. I just think you’re really special.”
“Jake, I want to be like you dude. I might go home dressed like you,” BublĂ© adds of Tankersley. “You killed it out here today brother.”
Then, Snoop expressed how grateful he was for his contestants.
“Let me say this first. The way you two hugged him. That’s what I loved about my team. We know when to love and care for each other,” he says.
“Brother Austyns. We talk about when you sing, think about the great times you had with your dad. Bringing that spirit to the stage we felt you. Reba was crying, I was crying,” he says. “Truly honored to have you on my team.”
“Christina Eagle, my spirit animal,” he adds. Because when you sing, you bring out the gangster holy ghost in me. I feel what you sing. It’s a gift. And it’s an honor to have you on my team and you did an amazing job tonight."
“Jake, don’t break my heart. This is country music’s finest right here. I love the way you took that information that I gave you and you made it your record. I could just feel it all. And you made me proud to be your coach,” Snoop concludes.
At the end of the clip, Snoop is tasked with the difficult decision of deciding who stays in the competition.
