ThroughoutMarch Madness, Kevin Keatts has been leading theNC State Wolfpackmen’s basketball team, but at home, he has a pack of his own backing him.

Keatts, who became the head coach at NC State in 2017, is married to Georgette Keatts. The couple tied the knot during his coaching stint at Hargrave Military Academy in the late 90s and later welcomed two sons, KJ and Kaden.

Over the years, the family of four has given glimpses of their life together as well as their full support for NC State.

From the couple’s early beginnings to how they support each other off the court, here’s everything to know about Keatts’ wife.

They got married when he was coaching for Hargrave Military Academy

Keatts began his coaching career as an assistant at Southwestern Michigan College in 1996. After one season, he took a job at Hargrave Military Academy in his native state of Virginia, where he was an assistant coach for two seasons before being promoted to head coach in 1999.

During that time, he married his wife Georgette,perThe News & Observer. The newlyweds later made their way to West Virginia in 2001 as Keatts served as an assistant coach to Greg White for the Marshall men’s basketball team, the Thundering Herd.

They have two sons

His tenure at Marshall was short-lived, as he returned in 2003 to Hargrave Military Academy to serve as head coach. He stayed with the school until 2011, during which time he and his wife welcomed two sons, KJ and Kaden.

They moved with their family frequently

The Keatts family primarily raised their kids in Virginia as he coached at Hargrave Military Academy, But as Keatts continued to pursue his coaching career, they had to move states; for example, pertheFayetteville Observer, his oldest son KJ started elementary school in Virginia but finished in Kentucky when his father became the associate head coach for the Louisville Cardinals men’s basketball team.

Their kids were apprehensive about moving to Raleigh for his coaching job

After leaving Louisville in 2014, Keatts was named the head coach of UNC Wilmington. As a result, he and his family moved to the beach town (which you may recognize from filming locations of shows includingThe Summer I Turned Pretty,Dawson’s CreekandOne Tree Hill).

Though the family quickly became acclimated to Wilmington, they had to move again when Keatts became head coach at North Carolina State University in 2017, succeeding Mark Gottfried.

“I started talking about national championships, I started talking about PNC Arena and going to play there, I started talking about the Dail Center, I talked about the tradition and I started showing them pictures,“Keatts told NC State University Athletics. “They went to their mom and came back to me in the kitchen, and said, ‘Coach, I’ll tell you what, I’m ready to commit to NC State.'”

Keatts’ son KJ has followed in his footsteps in more ways than one. After graduating from Grace Christian School in Raleigh, he enrolled at NC State. In August 2022,Keatts proudly postedabout moving his son into college as the entire family repped the Wolfpack with NC State shirts. KJ also plays on the men’s basketball team as a guard,per ESPN.

Kevin jokes she’s the “head coach at home”

While Keatts has coached the NC State Wolfpack to the Final Four during March Madness, his wife helps keep their family in line at home. During a previous interview withlocal news station WRAL, Keatts said that his wife is “head coach at home.”

“I’m the assistant coach. I got no pull,” he joked. “She runs everything. She’s unbelievable. I don’t know how I could do this job without her.”

“My role is to just try to make everything run as smoothly as I can,” Georgette added.
