Tommy Lee’s relationship with his ex-wifePamela Andersonmay be immortalized in the 2022 Hulu seriesPam & Tommy, but it’s his current wife,Brittany Furlan, who has his heart. The couple instantly clicked after meeting on the celebrity dating appRayain 2017.

Lee said he felt a connection to Furlan before they first met. “I’ve been following her for years onVine. I was like, ‘She is so funny, and stupid and cute and beautiful,’ " he said in the Netflix documentaryThe American Meme, which profiled Furlan.

While Furlan was hesitant to jump into their relationship headfirst after previously being cheated on, Lee worked hard to gain her trust, giving her full access to his world. “He was like, ‘Oh, well, I’ll just give you the password to my phone and all my devices and anytime you’re feeling insecure, you can go look at anything you want,’ " she recalled on an episode of dating coach Tripp Kramer’s podcastHow to Talk to Girls.

“He’s great and so loving and so supportive and … such a good partner, honestly,” she continued. “Once you kind of find someone you feel safe with, that kind of changes everything.”

Lee popped the question onValentine’s Dayin 2018 with asparkling heart-shaped diamond. One year — andone faux wedding— later, Furlanofficially became Mrs. Lee. “I met someone who I can trust because I didn’t trust anybody that I’ve dated before,” Furlan said of her spouse inThe American Meme. “I’d say Tommy is my first true love and I’m finally safe and happy.”

Still, the couple have had their problems.

She met Lee on Raya

OnHow to Talk to Girls, Furlan revealed that she and her rockstar husband’s paths first crossed in 2017 on the celebrity dating app Raya.“I matched with him and he was just so persistent,” she recalled. “He was just like, texting me every day, and being like, ‘Hey, what are you doing?’ … He was just so nice.”

Eventually, the pair decided to connect in person. “It was like a week later we ended up meeting up, we were both workingPride fest… I went up and tapped him on the shoulder, and he just gave me the biggest, warmest hug, and he held my hand,” Furlan said. “We were just together ever since then.”

She married Lee on Valentine’s Day

Furlan and Leetied the knoton Feb. 14, 2019, exactly one year after theMötley Crüedrummer proposed with aheart-shaped engagement ring. Furlan announced the happy news on Instagram with aphoto of her pupsdressed up as bride and groom, writing, “It’s official!!!! We’re married!!! ☺️❤️MR & MRS LEE YAHOOOOOOOO.”

She was named one of the most influential people on the internet

In 2015,TIME recognized Furlanas one of the 30 most influential people on the internet, alongsideBeyoncé,J.K. RowlingandShakira. By then, Furlan had amassed roughly 8.6 million followers on the now-defunct social media app Vine — the most of any woman on the site. “It’s changed my whole life,” she said.

According to Furlan, her content creation began organically. “I started doing really goofy videos, and my following started going up. It was growing like, maybe 50 new people a day, which was kind of cool,” Furlan toldTheWrapin 2014. “When I first started, I was posting all the time, because I was having so much fun with it. It wasn’t like now, where you have to be like, ‘Vine Scorsese.’ "

After a while, however, social media got the best of her. “I left Vine because Vine got more toxic for me than it did positive,” Furlan told E! in a 2019 episode ofTrue Hollywood Story. “I take everything really personally. When I was on Vine I had 10 million followers, OK? Now I’m on Instagram and I have 2.6 million.”

She has struggled with her mental health

Furlanspoke about her mental health strugglesin an interview with PEOPLE, published in June 2023. She recalled having anxiety attacks and self-harming. The social media star was eventually hospitalized and put on the antidepressant Effexor, which she says changed her life.

“I just felt very alone when I was younger,” she said. “People in school were mean to me. I had one friend. Because depression runs in my family and the mental illness, I think it just hit me really hard when I was 16. I wanted to die, but I didn’t really have strength to fully kill myself.”

She has appeared in several films, including a Mötley Crüe biopic

Furlan may be best known for her short-form comedy, but her real passion is in acting. “I love acting. That’s what I originally wanted to do when I came to L.A.,” she toldFox Newsin 2020. “When I was 17, I was like, ‘I want to act. This is what I want to do.’ And then I started doing stand-up. And I was kind of trying to figure out my way. And then the Vine thing came along and with Vine, it was like all this success.”

Furlan struggled to find film roles after becoming an internet sensation, however. “People kind of didn’t take you seriously as an actor because they’re like, ‘Oh, you’re from the internet. You don’t know [how to act],’ " she told the outlet. “But then finally, people started auditioning me and giving me chances.”

In addition to a small cameo inPitbull’s"Fireball” videoin 2014, Furlan has appeared in several films, includingWe Are Your Friends,Good Mourning,The Unicorn,Deported,Random Tropical ParadiseandThe Dirt— the film adaptation of Mötley Crüe’s autobiography.

She was profiled in a 2018 documentary

Furlan, along withParis Hilton, was one of several social media stars profiled for the 2018 Netflix documentaryThe American Meme. TheTribeca Film Festivaldoc followed Furlan, Hilton and other influencers' hustles to build their online empires.

She studied fashion

While her career took off in media and content creation, Furlan actually studied at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, better known asFIDM, in downtown Los Angeles. “I didn’t want to go to a real college and I needed something easy enough to break away from and go on auditions,” she explained in a Reddit “Ask me anything” thread in 2014.

She’s been engaged before

Before Furlan met Lee, she was engaged to fellow Vine star Randal Kirk II. In May 2015, Furlan announced that she was single onFacebook. “For the first time in over four years, I am single,” she wrote.

She was later linked to directorJordan Vogt-Roberts.

She hosted her own podcast

Furlan delved into podcasting in 2019 withWorst Firsts, a series where she interviewed A-list guests such asMena Suvari,Pauly Shore, the lateBob Saget, and of course, Lee, on their worst “first” experiences. Thefinal episodewas released on June 16, 2021.

She’s a dog person

While Lee is the father to bothBrandon ThomasandDylan Jaggerwith ex-wife Anderson, Furlan has no children of her own — and seemingly no plans to add to their brood. When asked if she planned to have kids, Furlan replied, “Oh, no, no, no … we have dogs.”

Those who follow her on social media know just how much the dogs mean to her. In September 2024, Furlan shared the “scary” story of how she rescued their dog, Neena, from a coyote attack in the couple’s backyard in anInstagrampost.

In security camera footage from the incident, a coyote can be seen picking Neena up near a swimming pool before running off with the dog in its mouth. Furlan confirmed that Neena had survived after she was able to grab the dog back from the coyote, who “couldn’t make it over the wall” with her.

“This is in Broad daylight at 1 PM. They are getting more brazen and hungry. Please be safe. I’m not even letting the dogs out anymore,” she wrote. “This is ridiculous. Hug your babies extra tight.”

She threw Lee a 60th birthday bash in Mexico

Theweeklong celebration in Punta Mitaincluded lots of sun and sand, as well as catered meals, golf, a dune buggy ride and a giant cake made to look like a drum set.

Pamela Anderson is happy for her

On Jan. 25, 2023, Lee’s ex-wife, Anderson,spoke about Furlanwhile promoting her bookLove, PamelaonThe Howard Stern Show.

“She’s good to him and I totally support that and think that’s great,” theBaywatchalum said. “I hate to be annoying and going through this again, I’m sure she’s annoyed, but I respect their relationship and just glad he’s happy and has someone in his life.”

Earlier that month, the actress spoke about Lee’s marriage in an interview with PEOPLE. “He has a wife, and obviously I respect that relationship, and he is very happy and I’m happy for him,” she said.

Fans have been reliving the love story between Anderson and Lee ever since Hulu releasedPam & Tommyin February 2022. The reminiscing continued when theBaywatchstar released her memoir,Love, Pamela, as well as her Netflix documentary,Pamela, A Love Story.

As a result, Furlan has gotten a lot of hate from social media users about her relationship with Lee — likely because she’s married to the former rockstar and Anderson isn’t.

In February 2023, Furlan decided toaddress the criticism in a TikTok video.

“I just wanted to come on here and let you know I’m OK because I know people have been checking on me, which is really nice, and I’m good, don’t worry,” she said. “Don’t worry about the people that are saying all the mean things they’re saying. I don’t live in that world, so please don’t stress.”

The former Vine star continued: “I’m lucky to have a really loving husband who honestly laughs all the stuff off and could care less. So, don’t worry about anything, and thank you to everyone that’s been sticking up for me.”

Roughly two months later, Furlan told TMZ that Anderson hadn’t reached out to clear the air but assured the outlet that the two women are “all good.”

“We want happiness. We want everyone to be friends,” Furlan said, noting that she would “never” go as far as to joke about the actress in her comedy sets.
